Much of our Taekwondo range is approved by the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) and the International Taekwondo Federation (ITF) and is therefore suitable to be worn for respective competitions.

Taekwondo: ‘the way of the foot and the fist’, free fighting combat using bare hands and feet. The objective is to defeat through efficiency and control.

The traditional Taekwondo uniform consists of white trousers, known as ‘pants’, and a white jacket known as a ‘dobok’. The dobok is secured with a belt around the waist, the colour of which reflects the highest grade the wearer has achieved.

Judo: ‘gentle way’, it is an unarmed martial art and combat sport derived from Japanese Jiu-Jitsu. The objectives are to throw to the ground, to immobilize, to unbalance or to subdue.

The traditional Judo uniform originated from Japan, and has been modernised slightly to allow for more flexibility and durability. Made of heavyweight canvas, it is designed to withstand aggressive grappling, holds and throws.
The Judo uniform, otherwise known as a ‘Gi’ comprises of heavy cotton drawstring pants, usually with double layered fabric over the knee area, and an open jacket which is secured by a belt. Japanese tradition dictates that the left side of the jacket must cross over the right, to do otherwise is deemed disrespectful!
